Number of layers and structure: Single-sided or double-sided panels are the mainstream. When complex backlight control needs to be integrated, a multi-layer design can be adopted.
The line width/line spacing of the conventional key scanning line for electrical performance is approximately 75-150μm. The fine backlight control circuit can reach 50μm or finer.
Environmental reliability: Polyimide (PI) substrate, high-temperature resistant (able to withstand reflow soldering temperature), good dimensional stability.
Key life: The circuit supports a keyboard strike life of ≥5 million times.
Bending test: At the specific installation bending point, it can pass tens of thousands of bending tests.
The Laptop Keyboard FPC adopts a large-area single sheet or spliced design, fully integrating all the key electronic components of the keyboard, such as the scanning circuit of the key contacts, the power supply and control circuit of the LED backlight, the function indicator lights, and the motherboard connector interface.
We usually design the curved and concave-convex structures of the metal back plate or plastic bracket of the keyboard with a thickness ranging from 0.1mm to 0.2mm. We can also precisely cut and design irregular shapes according to the unique space inside the notebook.
In the formation of the keyboard scanning network, the contact area is often treated with carbon paste or gold plating to ensure stable contact and low resistance with the silicone bowl or metal spring after millions of presses.
For backlit keyboards, the FPC directly integrates LED chip pads and power supply lines, supporting complex dynamic light effects ranging from single color, RGB multi-color to independent dimming for each key.
